How much does their service cost?
Their service is *free to you, whether you were responsible for the accident or not. If another party was responsible for the accident they will recover their costs in full from the guilty party’s insurance company. See below
What losses are you entitled to recover?
If you were responsible for the accident and you are comprehensively insured, you are entitled under your own policy, to recover the full cost of repairing your vehicle and some policies also provide for a limited vehicle hire facility.
If you were not responsible for the accident, you are entitled to recover.
The cost of reasonable motorcycle hire.
The full cost of repairing your vehicle.
Depreciation caused to your vehicle as a result of the accident.
Your policy excess (if you have also made a claim on a comprehensive policy).
Damages for any personal injury that you might have suffered and related expenses.
Can I recover for my personal injury?
Yes, if you, or a passenger involved in the accident, were injured and another party was responsible for the accident, then you will be entitled to claim in respect of those injuries and they will be happy to assist you in that claim through the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB).
PIAB will consider your claim and, assuming there is no dispute on liability, will make an award which you can either accept or reject, with the assistance of our expert advice, and if the award is rejected by you, they will asist you in processing your claim through the Courts in the usual way. they do levy a charge for handling your case through the PIAB and will agree that fee with you in advance.
Will they look after my claim if the other driver was responsible but was uninsured?
Yes, even if the other driver was uninsured, there is a compensation scheme in place and they will look after processing your claim in those circumstances.
