Wild Atlantic Way

Celtic Rider Tours - what is the 'Wild Atlantic Way'

Just as Route 66, or the great Pacific highway in Australia, have caught the imagination of many who wish to experience these iconic driving routes, we in Ireland have created an enchanting route that mere words cannot come close to describing. The name given to this coastal route is the 'Wild Atlantic Way'. The length is 2500kms of defined coastal riding adjacent to the west of Ireland which hugs the Atlantic Ocean. This route opened in summer of 2014.

Celtic Rider are one of only 30 companies hand picked by Tourism Ireland as official 'Ambassadors' to market this route as we helped design it several years ago, and indeed have been sending our clients along the most dramatic sections of it since we opened for business in 2007.

Ireland must of been touched by the finger of God as our land and seascapes are legendary in their rugged natural beauty. Running close by or adjacent to the west coast of Ireland are 5 national parks, each park has its own unique geology and history.

Our self-drive tours, which allowed Celtic Rider to win a national outstanding business award in 2013, are designed to allow our clients to experience the best of both coastal and mountain passes each day, a beautiful blend of mother nature each and every day. The 'Wild Atlantic Way' is one of the wildest, enchanting and culturally rich coastal routes on planet Earth.

The small towns and village we use are traditional by nature, our accommodation providers are genuinely interested in assisting our clients to enjoy their time spent with them, and the local cuisine and music is just top class. Wherever you travel along our carefully chosen routes you will find magic, adventure, history and abundant beauty.
